An insider's account of Bangladesh Jamaat-e Islami, examining the party's history, internal debates, legacy of 1971 and proposals for political reform.
এই বই সম্পর্কে
Abdur Razzaq examines Bangladesh Jamaat-e Islami through his experience within the organisation. His account considers the contrast between its disciplined membership and limited electoral appeal, alongside the continuing significance of the party's opposition to Bangladesh's independence in 1971. The book discusses his proposal for a public apology and the disagreements over reform that preceded his resignation in 2019. Comparisons with political movements in Turkey and Tunisia frame his arguments about organisational change and the relationship between religious outreach and party politics.
